‘Fast Forward’ event organized by Fashioning an Ethical Industry<\/p>\n<\/dl>\n<\/h1>\n

Dr Clare Rose has been a member of the Steering Committee of Fashioning an Ethical Industry since 2006, creating\u00a0events and publications for design students and practitioners. Her research on the origins of ethical consumption is featured in her publication, Clothing Society and Culture, vol.2 <\/strong>(Pickering & Chatto, 2010). <\/span><\/p>\n

In March 2010 Clare Rose organized a performance of the factory inspection scene from\u00a0Warp and Woof<\/strong> (Edith Lyttelton, 1904) at the Fashioning an Ethical Industry\u00a0Fast Forward <\/strong><\/span>Conference at Rich Mix, London. This was welcomed by Anannya Bhattacharjee, Coordinator of the Asia Floor Wage Campaign, as an example of the continued relevance of abusive practices in the garment industry. The piece was directed by Hanah Draper and performed by\u00a0Kate Cooper,\u00a0Sarah Bedford and other students from London Metropolitan University.<\/span><\/p>\n
